Sterilization in the food industry is the process of removing or revoking microorganisms in food to prolong their life.

Heat treatment is today the most used technology to ensure a long life of processed products. However, there are several heat treatments, in addition to sterilizing chemical raw materials needed for products, filtration techniques, etc.
